Miner’s Basin, Cheshire Chute

I spotted just the tip-top of this chute the other day while in the Sawtooth area and just had to have a look.

I’m a sucker for these tall, rock lined chutes. If only it was lined the whole way, and went to the valley floor it would be perfect. It was a good excuse to explore this area, and as always, add a few more lines to the ever-expanding “hit list”.

Hard windboard occupied the top, turning into creamy powder about a quarter of the way down. We are in dire need of some more snow, the Caylor’s really took a beating on this trip.
