Flat Top, North East Face

The North East Face

The North East Face

I don’t know what the proper name of this thing is, just Peak 9440? Any help there would be appreciated. What I do know is that it stares at me every day when I leave the house, and everyday I tell myself I need to get up there. After yesterday’s outing on Twin Peaks I got a good look at it and the skiing was good, so I went back for more.

Tysen came along after I promised some good skiing. The last time Tysen came skiing with me we skinned six miles, bailed on our objective, skied 100′ of sun crust and abused our gear over some rocks, multiple times. This time Tysen went through a bushwack battle of epic proportions to and from the objective. I’m not sure he’s going to ski with me again, but I applaud his enthusiasm.

Tysen arcin' turns. I left him plenty of real estate for fresh turns, but apparently he didn't want it. To be fair, it's a blind rollover onto the face. Next time Tysen!
