There’s a couloir south of Ruby Peak on the Benthos Buttress that I’ve been eyeing for awhile. I’ve also been scoping out the east face of Ruby Peak. Today was the day to combine the two. A cliff belt runs through the lower third of Ruby’s east face. I’ve glassed the face many times and convinced myself of a route through. I brought a rope just in case but luckily didn’t it.
There was great corn to be found on the east face. After the warm-up it was time for the main event.
I’m sure these couloirs have names, in the meantime I’ve been calling them the Big and Little couloirs. The Little is a classic. The kind of line I dream about.
Finished the day with a run on Ruby’s North face. Another great day and great lines.
